Creative Antarctica website
CREATIVE ANTARCTICA: Australian artists and writers in the far south is a website ringing together artists that have travelled to Antarctica.

Here, we showcase the rich corpus produced by Australian creative artists in Antarctica, and highlight the links between and across different artforms. By this means we can learn how time spent in Antarctica impacts artists’ work, and how these works impact the people who see, hear and read it.
Creative Antarctica is funded by the Australian Research Council through their Discovery Project scheme, with the support of the Australian Antarctic Division and the Centre for Art + Environment (Nevada Museum of Art). Led by the University of Tasmania, it includes researchers from Flinders University and RMIT. Creative Antarctica aims to bring awareness to Australians’ artistic engagement with the southernmost continent. This website and the Creative Antarctica exhibition are endeavours that brings together qualitative research (interviews and surveys), critical and historical analysis, and curatorial and creative response.
